It is dark... and negative 3 degrees outside.... After many hours of packing, cleaning and getting grumpy and worn out we arrive at the park and fly hotel in Anchorage. It is close to spring break and everyone and their grandmother's dog has decided to leave and get some sun!!
We meet up with some friends and settle in for out long wait... I am able to sweet talk our way into seats that are actually CLOSE to each other and get to preboard. (The flight was FULLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.... and we now know what it feels like to be stacked like cord wood!) The kids are excited and exhausted all in the same breath and by the time we get to our seats and put our stuff away the newness of the situation has worn off... and Grace is asleep before we back away from the gate. I follow suit shortly and Kyle gets orange juice and cookies...
I didn't think through the process and had scheduled our next flight for 30 minutes after we landed. Thank heavens the plane was on time to Salt Lake City!! We ran/dragged/walked quickly/walked slowly whining/ from terminal D to terminal B... and got to our connection with about 30 seconds to spare. Now... the question was, would my bag follow??
Being that the whole entire state of Alaska did not share in my desire to spend spring break in Albuquerque this flight was NOT full... and we were more then comfortable.

We landed in Albuquerque...and Kyle wanted to know what language they spoke in New Mexico. After convincing him that they did indeed speak English here... Grace shared her knowledge of Hola and Adios (in doraexplora aka Spanish) and the kids proceeded to greet everyone they saw with this new found vocabulary.
We met up with Grandma in baggage claim... where my bag was.... awaiting me!!
After a few moments of hesitation and a pondering question posed to Grandma... Grace decided that Grandma was not going to turn into a brain sucking alien and took her hand. We walked to Grandma's car and got something to eat. We left Kenai Alaska at 6:30pm (AKST) and arrived in Albuquerque New Mexico at 10:30am.... LONG TRIP!
