ICE FISHING

One day this winter Frank decided it was time...... to brush off the dust and go enjoy the great out doors... And that it was darn time we went ice fishing. After a tramatic attempt last year this was my first ACTUAL time walking out on the ice. So we loaded up the truck, dropped the kids off at the sitters (see we can learn... cold + child with no body fat = DISASTER!!!)
This huge thing is actually a post hole digger.. It weighs a TON but sure does get the job done..

Scooping out the ice..

The ice was REALLY thick. Over 3 feet. We almost ran out of auger bit... but not quite!

The Fish.... Notice on the top picture we put a spoon next to the fish as a guage for you to see how HUGE these things were. Needless to say.. Frank the Fish Slayer actually caught these. I spent my time huddled around the propane stove heating water and reading a book. The next time we go I asked for a bigger fire and a comfy chair.
