We went to Nikiski for the holdiays and spent some nice time with Frank's parents. The kids and I checked out our hopeful new diggs in Nikiski... It has an amazing amount of potential...(Code for...it needs work and smells like a dirty old man.... but is on an amazing lake and can be made into our dream home)
We attempted to go ice fishing. After much stomping through snow and trees (which included Kyle figuring out WHY it is not a wise idea to stick your tounge to the metal coffee pot in 15 degree weather), the kids and I defrosted in the truck while Frank (aka.. The Fish Slayer) caught 8 rainbow trout. The Eagles had thier fair share and Frank came home with 2 huge trout (16 inches and 18 inches)... They sure were yummy!
Christmas was fun... spread out over two days and 4 present opening sessions! New Years was much quieter... the kids went to sleep and we watched movies.... and made some goals for the new year.....
We are now back in our tiny apartment in Eagle River..... I have a classroom of stuff to do and tons of preperations! I am looking forward to the rest of the school year and have some really cool things planned. Frank loves Togiak and thinks it is pretty cool.. .Hopefully we will go out there someday and check it out. I am learning alot about the area in one of my college classes (I am working on a Masters in Anicent and Classical History... and killing two birds with one stone while taking these courses... they count for my degree and my certification!)
Hopefully I will be able to get Kyle into a local Headstart... but if not they have a pretty neat babysitter right near my school!
Grace is growing like a weed... and not only has hair but quite the tude also!
